GPPS Lumps are recycled General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) materials collected from post-industrial offcuts, defective parts, or factory floor scrap. These lumps are irregular in shape, cleaned, and screened to remove contaminants while retaining the rigidity, transparency, and processability characteristic of GPPS. GPPS Lumps provide a cost-effective raw material for manufacturers in injection molding and extrusion industries looking to produce transparent or semi-transparent components economically.

Our Quality Assurance and Shipping Process

Material Guarantee We assure you that the material will meet the specifications of the loading pictures and the sample provided prior to shipment. Customer satisfaction and transparency are our top priorities.

Our Step-by-Step Process

  1. Quality Inspection:
    • Before finalizing the shipment, our Quality Control (QC) team conducts a thorough inspection of the material to ensure it meets the agreed-upon standards.
    • Detailed videos and pictures of the material are captured during the inspection and shared with the customer for approval.
  2. Container Booking:
    • Once the customer approves the material, a container is booked on the next available vessel to ensure prompt delivery.
    • The booking details, including the shipping schedule, are shared with the customer for tracking purposes.
  3. Loading and Documentation:
    • The material is carefully loaded into the container.
    • During loading, we document the entire process with pictures and videos, capturing essential details such as:
      • Material condition
      • Loading procedure
      • Container and seal numbers
    • These visuals, along with the draft of the Bill of Lading (BL), are shared with the customer for verification.
  4. BL Draft Confirmation:
    • The customer reviews and confirms the BL draft.
    • Based on the confirmation, the Original Bill of Lading (OBL) is issued.
    • A copy of the OBL is then shared with the customer.

Key Features & Properties:

  • Material: General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS)

  • Form: Irregular lumps / chunks

  • Color: Transparent, off-white, or mixed depending on source

  • Density: ~1.04 – 1.06 g/cm³

  • Melt Flow Index (MFI): ~2 – 6 g/10 min (batch dependent)

  • Mechanical Properties:

    • Good rigidity and dimensional stability

    • Moderate impact resistance

    • Lightweight and brittle compared to ABS

  • Optical Properties: Maintains clarity suitable for transparent parts

  • Processing: Suitable for injection molding and extrusion after screening

Applications:

GPPS Lumps are ideal for non-critical or blended manufacturing applications:

  • Injection molded parts: Household items, containers, and casings

  • Packaging applications: Blister packs, trays, and food packaging (if food-grade compliant)

  • Extruded sheets & profiles: Display components, protective covers, and signage

  • Blending with virgin GPPS or HIPS: For cost-effective production of transparent or semi-transparent parts

Advantages:

  • Cost-effective: Reduces raw material costs compared to virgin GPPS

  • Eco-friendly: Supports recycling of post-industrial GPPS materials

  • Maintains key properties: Retains rigidity, dimensional stability, and clarity

  • Process-friendly: Compatible with injection molding and extrusion

  • Versatile: Can be blended with other polymers for customized performance
